MLP: Friendship is Hope Chapter 1

   "So...while we wait for the Royal Guards to arrive to ship off the treasure back to Equestria to distribute back to the families it all belongs to, what say we go get ourselves some ice cream?!~" Oath Sworn suggests the idea to everypony around her.

    "Yeah!!!" Everypony concurs without a second though. The heat of the sun gives them the need for something cool to munch on. They all begin to make their way down the dock to the ice cream parlor that awaits them.

    "Lets go then!~" Starlight says to her new best friend: Crown Jewel, "After we get ice cream, I think it would be a great time to send my mother a letter on what you and I have learned on friendship this trip, hmm?"

    "I agree!" Crown expresses with a smile, "Money may be great...but good friends are the true riches of a lifetime~"

    Starlight just smiles at the unicorn she may now call a friend and no longer a rival. However, she then recalls something she has in her saddlebag and summons her magic to pull out, "Hey Proudheart!~"

    "Yeah, big sis?" Proudheart stops and turns to face his sister.

    "As promised...here you go~" Starlight holds out one gold coin she collected from the treasure cave, "You distracted Oath and Task as you said you would, and so...here is what I promised; I know its not enough, but it is all that I could gather since the rest of the treasure was not ours to take anyway. I hope you like it."

    "Wow...thanks, Starlight!" Proudheart expresses, using his own magic to levitate the coin and look at it up close. However, the thought of keeping it for himself disappears and he gives it back, "You know...lets share it. I wanna let you keep it too."

    "Really? Wow...thank you, little brother~"

    The two pony siblings embrace once another and resume their trek down the docks to rejoin the rest of their family and friends.





    "Wait...uh...Starlight." Tyke calls out to his best friend, hoping she can hear him.

    "Yes, Tyke?" Starlight comes to a halt and turns around to face her best friend and crush.

    "Well...I uh...I just...."

    "Yes....?"

    "Here...." He says, using his magic to pull out what appears to be heart-shaped ruby with an emerald-encrusted stem upon it, "I uh...I found this in the cave and...well...I wanted you to have it, because...you are...so beautiful and...special to me." His cheeks blush so red upon expressing his feelings like this as he presents his gift to her.

    "Oh, Tyke...!~" Starlight smiles onto the gift and walks up to plant her lips upon his onyx-coated cheeks, kissing him, "Thank you so much!~"

    Tyke can only blush as he receives perhaps his first, cheek, kiss from Starlight. He just smiles as he gives her the gift that he took from the cave out of love for his friend, not greed.

    "Awwwww~" Oath Sworn, who is watching from over yonder, expresses...using her magic to hold up the camera in order to take a picture of the two love-ponies, "So cute~" Once the picture comes out, she holds it up and smiles, "This will be one summer they will probably never forget~"






     As I take in a great sigh of relief upon closing the back cover of my latest book I have, at long last, completed after these last five or so months, I lean back in my chair and rest my head as I take a moment to relax and realize I had finally finished after so long a time. "Wow! I cannot believe it took me so long to finish this story. I guess that is what I get for wasting time playing games and looking around for other work; Gotta pay the bills and put hay on the table for myself."

    Once I finish talking to myself, which I make a habit of...but is what writers like myself do when trying to think and plan for stories to come, I hop on out of my chair and blow out the candle near that resides upon my desk where I just finished my soon-to-be published story: "The Treasure of Pony Island". From there, I make my way down the stairs and into the kitchen where I grab myself a bite to eat before I send words to the publishing company...and the Royal Family themselves...that my latest story of one of their great adventures is complete and will soon be ready for all to read.

    "I cannot wait to see the look on both Princess Starlight's and Prince Tyke's faces once they read how their little summer adventure years ago went down," I say to myself with hope for both their acceptance and that my leftover hayburger will still be good to finish today as it was to eat yesterday, "I just hope they don't mind that I spiced it up a little: A dark storm formed over the island the moment the Kraken attacked that cruise ship...and lightning flashed everywhere as the ghost of Blackmane returned to see his reign rise again and become even stronger than it was hundreds of years ago!" I then chuckle as I open up the fridge doors with my magic, only to see the hayburger I hoped to see once again, "Yeah...I will take that as a good sign~"

    With a big smile upon my face, I trot on over to the table and place the box that has both the hayburger...minus the tomatoes...and onion rings upon it and sit myself down on the chair nearby. "Time to reward myself for a job well done with a harburger that I ordered well-done~" I mention with a chuckle and prepare to dig in.







    Suddenly, I hear my doorbell ring.

    "Ugh...!" I moan just before I can take a bite of my meal, "Always when I am eating. Really...."

    Rising up from my seat, I make my way out of the kitchen and through the door that leads out of my living quarters and into the small library I run within the kingdom; It is here where I keep many books that either I myself wrote or those whom other great authors have allowed me to keep their own writings. So long as those who borrow return in the amount of time needed, my library can stay in business and be one that even the Royal Family themselves come to visit once in a while; Their own library at the palace is far grander and larger than my own, but that is the point when Princess Starlight is one who enjoys reading and-

    The doorbell rings once more, which at this point has become annoying so fast.

    "COMING!~" I shout within a place that is suppose to be quiet. "Even when the library is closed for the day...I still get visitors. Ugh...."

    Opening the front door, I fake a smile to the mailpony before me. "Hello there." I greet to the elder stallion who is both frail and appears to be hard of seeing due to his glasses.

    "Hello there, young one. I uh...I have some mail fer ya...!" He says, reaching into his bag full of letters and packages to search for something that may take quite a while to find. Some of his letters fall out of the bag as he looks within, "Now...where is that dog-gone letter."

    "Uhhhh...right here," I mention, using my magic to pick up the two letters that have fallen on the ground, "Thank you so much~"

    "Now...where did I put those letters?" 

    Also...deaf. "Uh...yeah. Take care!" I bid farewell and close the door behind me, hoping the old colt will realize I have my letters and can go.





    "Lets see...." I say and take a gander at the first letter. Tearing it open, I take look and notice the Royal Seal and the fancy words all typed out upon it. "Well what do you know! The invitation to Princess Starlight's coronation! Heh...looks like she will finally be crowned the official ruler of this land she and her friends all helped to form," I mention with a smile, only to notice something else within, "Oh, looks like...OH! I believe somepony special will be walking by her side for this; I can only imagine who~"

    Chuckling as I return to the kitchen on the other side of the library, within my living quarters, I place the valuable letter and invitation down where I will not lose it, "I'm definitely attending this; This will be the event of a lifetime...and one I have not seen since I saw Princess Twilight and Prince Courageous rise to the rank of Princess and Prince of Tambelon."

    I then take a look at the other letter and open it to see what is inside.

    "Lets see...." I whisper and scroll through the words to see what it could be that is written upon the white parchment. My next reaction is but a gasp that leaves my heart beating wild, "OH MY CELESTIA!!! I...I've been accepted into the "Equestria Journalist's Guild" at long last!!!" I shout and pant, unable to keep myself calm in all of this, "I can't believe it! All my stories have finally be approved! Now, they want me to join and...." I read the rest at the bottom, which brings my excitement down a bit, "They...want me to...join them for a three-year expedition across uncharted territory beyond the northern lands of the Crystal Empire, where it is believed to be cold, yet warm further up."

    I sit myself down and shake my head in disbelief, "Wow...! They really want me to go with them on this new adventure and...record everything they discover. This means...a whole new set of books for me to write, and yet...I may not be able to come home for some time...if ever."

    Taking a moment to sit myself down and think on this, I recap that which I must decide on: "Do I go on this expedition and join the guild which may be my one and only chance to write many new stories and become as big an author as A.K. Yearling herself, or do I stay and run my library for the rest of my life with very few new stories to be written? I mean, it says it begins next week and I will be able to see the coronation before I go...but...."

    Shaking my head on either decision, I forsake my burger and place it back into the fridge; I have lost my appetite due to the many thoughts and run through my head. The one that seems to bug me the most is a certain story I have not begun to write yet...which was my goal for upon completing the "Treasure of Pony Island" one.

    "I only have a week and I still wish to write one last story revolving around the Royal Family of Tambelon; From when Twilight first met Courageous Heart up until only a few years ago when it all came to a happy ending with their daughter saving the world and receiving her own kingdom, I happily took up the task of writing all their stories for everypony here and beyond to read. Now...only one story is left to be written and I only have a week to write it before the coronation and my departure." I say to myself and take in a deep breath and smile, "I guess I have a lot of words to write down in the only seven days I have left! First...to send a reply to the guild and let them know I am accepting this honor!"

    I race out of the kitchen, through the library, and open the front door with the reply letter that came with the announcement of my acceptance...ready to place it in the mailbox to be delivered tomorrow. But once I open the door....

    "Now...uh...where are those letters?" The elder mailpony says, who is still standing before my front door without a clue.

    "Ugh...."

LATER THAT EVENING....

    





    Sitting myself down at my desk upstairs in my bedroom, with only a small lit candle as a source of light...which for some reason helps with my concentration, I magically summon enough power from my horn to lift up my quill...and dip it into the container of ink beside the pieces of parchment that I have out before me; It may appear blank now, but one my head that is full of imaginative ideas fills it and the many others after, it will all come together nicely into a book that will be for all to read.

    Not just for the citizens of this newly-formed kingdom...but for the Royal Family that will soon rule over it all.

    "Now, where to begin...?" I ask myself, wondering where might be the perfect place to start. Just then, it hits me: "I know! I'll start from the VERY beginning; Best to give the readers a little refreshing of the history that occurred before this story, based on true events, begins." 

    With that said, I bring the tip of the quill down onto the parchment and start to write down the summary of the history of all that took place before and up until recently. I only have a week to complete this final novel before I set off to Equestria to begin my new career that will change my life, and my writings, forever. I will miss it all...but I have to stay focused for the sake of my fans and the Royal Family whom I vow will be the firsts to read this.

    "Now...onto the story:




                "It was a time long before the formation of Equestria; Even before the time of the two great Princesses of the Sun and Moon. It was a time when Harmony and Friendship was not at it's strongest...which allowed for Disharmony, one of the many pieces that build up evil itself...namely the "Darkness"...to grow stronger and attempt to cover the world in a void of blackness where no light would ever shine. However, such a time would not happen just yet. First we must begin with the time where the two great powers, Light and Darkness, would make their mark that would affect the rest of history as we know it."

                "While we may not know how the world began nor how Light and Darkness came to be...we do know there was a time where they were gave their power to their own chosen ones. Our story begins with the two beings that would represent both the Light and the Darkness...."

                "Long ago after the mysterious beginning that few to nopony can recall, there was a time when many species lived together...while some lived apart and refused to acknowledge any others out there. In the vast world, in the time before metal was first created, ponies and more lived in their own villages made of hay or stone...while those that could fly lived within the clouds and made their huts out of the very white puffs that floated all around in the sky-"




    "Wait a minute!! What am I doing?!!!" I suddenly ask myself upon realizing the that which I am jotting down onto the scrolls before me, "Am I really trying to write a VERY LONG summary of EVERY story I ever wrote from when Courageous Heart was first born until a few years ago...or even today?!!" I ask myself once more, only to shake my head and just throw my quill down onto the desk with my magic doing the job for my hooves, "No Hay, No Way!!"

    Bringing forth a new scroll to start anew, I think clearly what I will jot down before I place the real beginning, "I spent THREE years of my life writing for a bunch of people, good and bad, to read my work and...and what am I thinking? Giving them all the details of my other stories so "They don't have to read through the rest of my other works and waste their time so they can get to here" and stuff? I DON'T THINK SO!!!" I snort and lay the scroll out and prepare my quill...once I dip the tip into some black ink that I keep nearby as any writer would, "If they wish to know what is going on, they may read my previous stories and see for themselves; I will not take away all my hard work and just summarize it all on the first page. It would be cool, but would take too long...and at least those who know my stories will already know what is going on."

    "Now...I will at least give some new readers a brief summary of what each story contains and the rest will be up to them to read."



    1. The Light of Equestria: 


                It is in this story, which took place years ago when the lovely unicorn Twilight Sparkle and her friends were preparing for the next Grand Galloping Gala, and when the former discovered an old book that bore an old tale from long before Equestria was ever formed...and much longer before that: A story of a Dark Lord and a Champion of Light. While Twilight saw this as perhaps only a fable, it all came true suddenly when that very Dark Lord...known by many names, but mainly Tirek...escaped from Tarturas and vowed to spread the power of Darkness throughout the world. So many would fall to his evil and become his servants...but the Mane Six, made up of Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy, managed to escape and seek the aid of various ponies and other species throughout the southern territories of Equestria for help against this dark menace.                 After Tirek's defeat at the hooves of Courageous Heart, Twilight, and everypony else who fought a glorious battle with the power of Friendship, Harmony, and Light guiding their way, a whole bunch of new adventures begin in Ponyville and all around. For Courageous, he and Twilight begin dating and spending time with one another...reading and helping others, and themselves, discover new lessons on friendship. Along the way, they face new adversaries, learn about the History of Courageous himself, and more along the way...all the way up until a new kingdom is discovered around the time Twilight and Courageous become engaged.     3. Equestria Girls: Spirit of Friendship:

                
                After Courageous and Twilight return from their honeymoon to the Crystal Empire, to visit friends and family before beginning their Royal Training in order to rule the Kingdom of Tambelon, a new...yet familiar...threat has come to the mirror that leads to the world where Twilight Sparkle once entered long ago. Twilight, who must enter alone...save for Spike...she returns to Canterlot High to reunite with her friends, including the rehabilitated Sunset Shimmer, and help save their school from the evil billionaire Tirek. With the help of her friends, this world's Courageous Heart, and some team spirit, the Wondercolts must face the Rumble Ridge Diamond Dogs in a soccer game in order to show the entire town they have plenty of spirit and right to remain proud students of Canterlot High.     4. My Little Pony: The Future is Magic Volume I:


                Ten years have passed since Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Courageous Heart took their duties as rulers of the Kingdom Island of Tambelon. All their friends have made their own families and new homes for a whole new generation to enjoy. Now their eight-year old daughter, Starlight, dreams of making new friends while learning so much on friendship as she possibly can, is allowed to attend Tambelon Elementary School...where she makes some new friends: Candy Apple, the daughter of Cheerilee and Big Macintosh; Gust, the son of Rainbow Dash and Soarin; Delicacy, the daughter of Spike and Rarity; Shani, the daughter of Chief Thunderhooves and Subira...Zecora's twin sister; and Tyke, the son of Queen Chrystala...the reformed Chrysalis. Together with her new friends, the Yearling Six discover new friendship lessons as they attend school and other activities...while coming face to face with the "Black Apple" of the Apple Family, who is also an evil witch who desires to rule all of Tambelon: Grenadier.     5. My Little Pony: The Mare in the Mask:


                The following summer, while the Yearling Six are spending their vacation with relatives, Twilight and Courageous find themselves welcoming a rich, and corrupt, stallion named Oro Dinero and his daughter Espina Rosa to Tambelon. However, while Oro may seem alright...and Espina attempting to flirt with Courageous in front of Twilight, which really angers her...the evil wealthy stallion has plans to steal the gold of Tambelon by mining it from underneath the great, golden city itself. But while citizens are disappearing...taken to work as possessed miners to dig out the gold...Courageous and Twilight must put aside their royal images and become outlaws in order to save their home: Together, they will rise up as the Masked Mare and Silver Stallion...and do all they can to save their beloved kingdom.     6. My Little Pony: The Future is Magic Volume II:


                A year later, The Yearling Six are now facing a new school year while working their way to earning their cutie marks. One by one, they each discover their hidden talents and earn their marks upon their flanks...until only Starlight is left. With Twilight expecting a new foal to come into her family, Starlight must be ready to protect the family and friends she loves...by overcoming her fears, and the fears her best friends all possess, in order to over come a great threat that has come to Tambelon: Dismay, the Mistress of Fear. This foul demon-pony vows to spread fear into all the young foals throughout the kingdom so that she may grow powerful enough to affect the adults until all cower in fear of her.     7. My Little Pony: Hooves of Harmony:


                The following summer, Courageous Heart and Twilight Sparkle receive a message from monks who come from the green Kingdom of Shamrock...a pony empire of luck and dance. Courageous's foster father, Tap Step, must return home and face off against his former student and rival: Don Porsha...the Stallion of the Step and Skymarshall of the Skyguard of Shamrock. However, upon arrival, an injury prevents Tap from dancing the way he use to long ago when he was younger, and it is up to his foster son to take his place. All the while Courageous is no master dancer, he must rise up with the help of his friends and family if he is to stop Don Porsha and save Shamrock from falling to him and the mysterious evil that drives him.     8. My Little Pony: The Future is Magic Volume III:


                Five years have passed and now the Yearling Six have all blossomed into teenagers, especially the beautiful alicorn Princess Starlight; Not to mention her five-year old brother Proudheart and his collection of best friends: Felicity, the daughter of Oath Sworn and Task Duty...two Royal Guards of Tambelon; Cinnamon and Crisp Apple, the twin son and daughter of Cheerilee and Big Mac; and Cherry Pie, the daughter of Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich. Together, they make up the Foal Five. As for Starlight and her friends, they must discover new lessons of Friendship...especially in this time when the centaurs have arrived to settle in Tambelon, which seems to have upset many ponies and others; They blame them for Tirek's evil, when they had nothing to do with him...since he was a traitor to their own kind. On top of all that, Dismay has returned...more powerful than ever and now plans to use this crisis to spread fear all over Tambelon once more until nothing of Light and Harmony remains.     9. My Little Pony: The Treasure of Pony Island:


                During the following summer, Starlight and her friends...along with her annoying brother and his friends...are being given a vacation to small island just off the main island, which is a fancy resort known to all as Six Element Resort. Taking this chance to relax and have some fun after recent events, Starlight plans to make the most of this...until she discovers a treasure map which may possibly lead to the legendary trove of the infamous pirate Blackmane...who was said to have hidden his plunder on the island long before Tambelon was reclaimed and reformed. Following the clues, and being followed by their rival Crown Jewel, the Yearling Six attempt to locate the treasure...while learning that greed can be a powerful enemy and could unleash the Ghost of Blackmane and his pet, the Kraken, onto the island. Can the Yearling Six overcome their own desire for riches, as well as help others in the same way, before the waters of Tambelon belong to Blackmane once again?     "And NOW...that I have given a brief summary of the past stories...it is time to move ahead onto the story that follows~" I say to myself, glad to know that I can truly begin and hope to have this story done in time before the ceremony of Princess Starlight. "Now...where to begin-Oh yeah! I know!" I say with pride and begin, "I just hope A.K. Yearling does not get upset or anything...since part of this is from one of her own novels from years back."

    With that being said, I now jot down the opening of the story...and hope to give this final story my best.

    The following year after Starlight and her friends vanquished Blackmane and his pet Kraken, saved Tambelon once more, and made friends out of enemies, a new school year has begun at Tambelon Middle...which is said to be their final year before they move onto High School. Everypony knows that once one graduates to high school and then from said school, the future will lie before them on what they wish to be: Some may become farmers. Some Wonderbolts. Some even a fully-fledged Princess or Prince. But that is still a long way away, and Starlight has plenty of adventures to seek and discover before that time.

    But now...it is spring with only a few months left before summer, and a great crime has been committed to the Royal Family of Tambelon: Princess Twilight Sparkle's crown has been stolen, and the hooves point to only one who has the skills and talent, and nerve, to pull off something this high a crime:

    Charade, the Master of Disguises and Master Jewel Thief.

    Once thwarted years ago by his younger brother and sister, Clever Wits and Daring Do, twice in the past with some help, Charade has come to plan his biggest heist yet...and he is not alone in this one. But with the combined strength of a brave adventurer and brilliant agent, a great plan may soon bring down the master criminal and see him jailed at long last.

    What could go wrong.....
